About EFL
EFL is equine facilitated learning.
How can EFL help me? What will I learn?
EFL benefits everyone in different ways.
It could help you:
- Build self-awareness;
- Improve self-confidence;
- Learn to set and manage boundaries;
- Improve problem-solving skills;
- Develop leadership skills;
- Manage stress, develop ways to relax and understand your energy levels;
- Build trust and understand relationships;
- Become more resilient and assertive.
And much more!
How long does an EFL session last?
Each session lasts 60 or 90 minutes.
How many sessions should I attend?
You can attend as many sessions as you want or feel you need to. We usually recommend a minimum of 6 sessions.
Will I get one-to-one attention?
Yes, we work with all clients individually. We don’t provide group sessions. You will work with one or both horses, and with Ingrid.
Everything that happens at your session will be treated as confidential.
How much does it cost?
Please see the FAQ page for our latest prices and discount offers.
What will I do during an EFL session?
Every session is designed and facilitated with your unique needs and interests in mind. We don’t have fixed programmes that everyone follows. Equine facilitated learning is not like the sort of learning you know from school. In EFL there is no set curriculum, no activities that everyone is expected to do, and no standards that you are expected to achieve.
- You will spend time with the horses in their natural space – observing them from a distance and communicating with them close up.
- You might groom the horses, or lead them around the field, or even around a small obstacle course. But if that’s not for you, that’s fine.
- You will also spend time relaxing in our beautiful fields, surrounded by trees, stunning views, and wildlife.
- You can choose to have a mixture of guided EFL sessions and ‘herd time’ sessions where you just chill out with the horses.
